District Sahiwal

District Sahiwal is located in the Punjab province of Pakistan, situated between the Ravi and Sutlej rivers. It serves as an important agricultural and commercial hub of the region. The district is well known for its fertile soil, making it one of the country’s leading areas for the cultivation of wheat, cotton, sugarcane, maize, and vegetables. Sahiwal is also famous for the internationally recognized Sahiwal cattle breed, prized for its high milk yield and resilience.

The city of Sahiwal, the district headquarters, lies on the historic Grand Trunk Road, connecting it with major cities like Lahore, Faisalabad, and Multan. Apart from agriculture, the district has a growing industrial base including textile mills, food processing, and dairy industries.

Culturally, Sahiwal is rich in heritage and traditions. The nearby Harappa archaeological site, dating back to the Indus Valley Civilization (2600–1900 BCE), makes the district historically significant. With a blend of rural charm and urban development, Sahiwal continues to play a vital role in Punjab’s economy, culture, and history.
